Melissa grew up in both Burnaby and South Surrey, with many fond childhood summers spent at her family’s cabin in Birch Bay. Those early memories helped shape her appreciation for connection, community, and nature—values that continue to guide her today.
She began her career in the credit union system in 2002, where her passion for investment planning and financial advice quickly took root. Over the years, Melissa has also made giving back a cornerstone of her life. She has proudly volunteered through both independent and employer-sponsored initiatives, contributing her time and energy to organizations such as United Way, The Full Cupboard, Sources, Girl Guides of Canada, and the Semiahmoo Arts Society.
Professionally, Melissa is highly qualified, having completed the Canadian Securities Course, the Conduct and Practices Handbook, the Branch Managers’ Examination Course, and the ETFs for Mutual Fund Representatives course. She holds the Personal Financial Planner (PFP) designation and continues to pursue ongoing learning to better serve her clients.
Outside of work, Melissa shares her life with her husband Matt and their two energetic dogs, Lucy and Ruby. She finds joy and balance in the outdoors—whether camping, kayaking, or hiking—along with a love of travel, music, and a good book.
